Welcome to New Battle City!
There were not many people who can say they knew of the name Gundam when it appeared in Japan and then around the world from 1976 and continued to be something of a franchise throughout the years. For over 40 years, the series continued with the Universal Century then branched off into alternate worlds like the Cosmic Era and Advanced Generation. Some were popular, others we out right ignored, however one thing was shared by all who became fans, the construction of Gunpla. Though these plastic kits were just display pieces for the average collectors, some customized theirs for increased craftsmanship and creativity with their work. Competitions were held in various regions for those who lived to build them and those who just wanted the kits simply placed them in a protected shelf for others to look at and admire.
This all changed when the establishment of Phantom Vision brought about a new era in sports entertainment. The introduction of the Plavsky Particle wasn’t received as awe-inspiring as the company first hoped but when they applied the particles affects to a Gunpla Model and brought it to life, everything changed. With their budget and resources, the company initiated the first Gunpla Battle Tournament and from there, a new world past time made its mark within history. In the year 2020, about ten years following the first Tournament, the world prepares for the sixth world cup. Qualifiers from around the world are setting up shop in major cities like Tokyo and New York City.
SETTING
It is the Year 2020; Gunpla Battles did not start until 2010, this is of course an Alternate Universe Timeline separate from both Gundam Build Fighters and the Real World. While there is no reason why players have to use the locations provided, the story itself will take place in the fictional City of New Battle City in the Shiga Prefecture which has numerous battle systems across the city even in unlikely locations such as public malls and along public walk ways. The city is brand new, but the population has become something of a mix between Japanese and Other Cultures and races due to its popularity.
To be more specific on the location; It’s in the Shiga Prefecture, West of Takashima City.
